Lee Morgan

1938, Filadelfia

Trombettista statunitense di jazz. Ragazzo prodigio, nel 1956 suonò con Horace Silver, poi nell'orchestra di Dizzy Gillespie; tra 1958 e 1965 fece parte a più riprese dei Jazz Messengers. Nella fortunata attività a proprio nome (The Sidewinder, 1963) ha fuso hard bop e funky con emozionante carica espressiva.
